Государственные ценные бумаги Великобритании, впервые выпущенные в 1956 г. В настоящее время контроль за их выпуском и обращением осуществляет Управление национальных сбережений (National Savings). Держатели этих облигаций не получают ни постоянных выплат, ни дохода от повышения курса; однако еженедельно и ежемесячно производится розыгрыш облигаций. Выигрыши по ним составляют от 50 до 250 000 ф. ст. и не подлежат налогообложению. Призовой фонд (с 1988 г. он рассчитывается по 6,5%-ной ставке) распределяется между многочисленными выиграшами. Выигравших определяет ERNIE (electronic random number indicating equipment (электронное оборудование, наугад указывающее номер)). Шанс на выигрыш в каждом ежемесячном розыгрыше равен 11 000 к 1. Цена облигации равна 1 ф. ст.; минимальная покупка составляет 100 ф. ст.; одно лицо не может иметь облигаций более чем на 10 000 ф. ст. Облигации погашаются по номиналу в любое время.
